Through its support for ethical and professional standards for intensive English programs, the American Association of Intensive English Programs (AAIEP) promotes the well-being and educational success of its English language students.
Through its advocacy efforts with both governmental and nongovernmental actors, AAIEP communicates the value of English study in the U.S. and make studying the language more accessible.
The Accrediting Commission of the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training (ACCET)
ACCET was founded in 1974, for the purpose of improving continuing education and training, and has been officially recognized by the U.S. Department of Education since 1978 as a “reliable authority” on the quality of education and training provided by the institutions we accredit. In 1998, ACCET became the only recognized accrediting agency to be certified as an ISO 9001-Quality Management System, under the international standards established by the International Organization for Standardization, and continues to hold that unique status.
Canadian Association of Private Language Schools (CAPLS - ACELP)
The Canadian Association of Private Language Schools (CAPLS) was established in December 1997, and is the largest association of private English and French language schools. CAPLS has grown from 20 founding schools to over 100 study locations from coast-to-coast.
The Commission on English Language Program Accreditation (CEA)
The Commission on English Language Program Accreditation (CEA) is a non-profit organization whose primary focus is the accreditation of English language programs and institutions in the United States. English language institutions accredited by CEA may offer other language-related programs such as TEFL training and foreign language courses. CEA is recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education, which allows institutions to use CEA accreditation for purposes of certification to admit international students. CEA also conducts international accreditation reviews.
Association of International Educators (NAFSA)
This is an association of professionals that promotes student and university exchanges with the United States. The members of NAFSA carry out these goals to develop an international education.

BELTA is an association that focuses mainly on Brazilian institutions that offer courses and exchange programs abroad. Founded in 1992, this association is well-known around the world.
Europe
Associação de Escolas de Portugês Lingua Estrangeira (AEPLE)
AEPLE is the Portuguese Association of Private Schools that teach Portuguese as a foreign language. It was founded in October 1996 and is a member of the European Federation ELITE, which consists of similar associations whose member schools teach the language of their respective countries.
AEPLE aims to promote and disseminate the Portuguese language and culture, in Portugal and abroad.
To ensure that the associates respect European standards in the quality of their teaching and accommodation, and provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Association of Language Travel Organisations (ALTO)
ALTO is a global non-profit organization and sector association of the World Youth Student & Educational (WYSE) Travel Confederation.
ALTO membership is a symbol of quality. Members are vetted by the larger membership community, examined for financial health, and referred by other ALTO members. In addition, ALTO members adhere to the ALTO Charter, Members’ Guarantees of Quality, and other guidelines issued by the association.

This association combines the best schools that teach Italian in Italy. Its purpose is to control the commercial and didactic abilities of member schools, and is committed to respecting the standards of European quality in the linguistic field.
British Council
The British Council is a state organization that controls and attests to the quality of language schools.
Calidad en la Enseñenza del Español come Lengua Extranjera (CEELE)
CEELE is a Certificate of Quality in the Teaching of Spanish as a Second Language (Certificado de Calidad en la Enseñanza del Español como Lengua Extranjera), granted by the Spanish Department of University of Alcalá de Henares and the Association of Spanish Economic Resources.
The schools that request this qualification are submitted to an inspection that evaluates 11 different aspects of Teaching of Spanish as a Second Language. The inspection is repeated every 2 years.
Centres Associés et Centres agréés Instituto Cervantes
The Instituto Cervantes was set up by Spain in 1991 to promote and teach Spanish and to spread the culture of Spain and Spanish-speaking countries.
The Associates and Accredited Centers are Spanish institutes that have been recognized by the Instituto Cervantes, guaranteeing the quality of the teaching and services offered.
The European Associations of Quality Language Schools (EAQUALS)
Founded in 1991, EAQUALS is a pan-European Association of language training providers aiming to promote and guarantee quality in modern language teaching institutions. To achieve these goals, it has established and published a demanding set of criteria for membership. This criteria is backed up by a rigorous inspections.
English UK
Formed in 2004 from two previous associations (ARELS and BASELT), English UK has 340 centers in private schools, educational trusts and charities, further education colleges and universities.
All their members are accredited by the British Council under the Accreditation UK Scheme, which we run in partnership with the British Council.
Their key roles are to promote quality and to represent their members' interests.
For students, enrolling at an English UK center is the best way to ensure that they have a positive experience in the UK, and that they get the most out of their English language course.
Fachverband Deutsch als Fremdsprache (FaDAf)
This national organization guarantees the quality and content of its German courses as a foreign language in the schools and universities in the country.
Federacion de Escuelas de Español Lengua Extranjera (FEDELE)
The Spanish Federation of Associations of Spanish Schools for Foreigners is an organization that guarantees the quality of the Spanish courses for foreigners.
FEDELE is in regular contact with Cervantes Institute, the Ministries of Education and Culture, the Spanish Tourism Institute and the Institute for Foreign Trade.
Federation Of English Language Teaching Organisation Malta (FELTOM)
FELTOM is a self-regulating association of the major schools in Malta. It is officially recognized by the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Tourism, and holds consultative status with the Malta Tourism Authority.

International Association of Language Centres (IALC)
The IALC quality seal is a trusted symbol in language study abroad. All IALC language schools are regularly inspected and continuously monitored. Recognised English Language Schools Association (RELSA)
The Recognized English Lagnuage Schools Association (RELSA) is an association of 56 high quality English Language Schools that conduct language courses in over 120 locations around Ireland.

ENGLISH Australia College

English Australia only endorses colleges that meet strict membership criteria.

Federation of Independent language Schools in New Zealand (FIELSNZ)
The Federation of Independent Language Schools in New Zealand is a group of well-established, quality English language schools located across New Zealand. It is a registered society that incorporates the long-standing organization known as FIELSNZ which was founded in 1986.
All member schools across New Zealand are approved by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) and are signatories to the New Zealand Ministry of Education Code of Practice for the Protection of International Students. All schools are also members of APPEL, the Association of Private Providers of English Language.
The National ELT Accreditation Scheme (NEAS)
The National ELT Accreditation Scheme Limited (NEAS) is Australia's national accreditation organization for English Language Teaching centers.
The general goal of NEAS Australia is to establish and uphold high standards of service provision in English language teaching in Australia.
NEAS frequently conducts formal and informal consultations with commonwealth and state government authorities on matters affecting the quality of English language teaching in Australia.
