PET - Preliminary English Test
This exam is the second easiest of the Cambridge ESOL tests. It tests understanding and use of the English language. Candidates must be capable of fluency in any situation.
You can take this exam after completing 375 hours of general English study. This exam preceeds the FCE exam, and will help you prepare for it.
The Cambridge examinations measure the candidate’s general English capabilities. The exam is recognized by most international employers. Once successfully completed, this exam demonstrates a B1 language level (intermediate) to the European Council.

Course description
Understanding and written expression (1 hour and 30 minutes)
- Oral comprehension (35 minutes)
- Oral expression: 2 candidates testing at the same time (10 - 12 minutes)
