Japanese Aptitude Test
The Japanese Aptitude Test measures a degree of mastery of the Japanese language, and is the most taken exam in Japan. The exam is often known by its English name, Japanese Language Proficiency Test or by the abbreviation JLPT.Created in 1984, it is organized by the Japanese Educational Exchange and Services (JEES) by the Foundation of Japan for foreigners.
This is an examination with multiple choice questions and can be taken in 4 difficulty levels. Level 1 is the most difficult and Level 4 is the easiest. We generally consider that the Level 4 does not sufficiently measure a level of profiency because it is too easy, and Level 1 is difficult even for a Japanese person because it contains many unusual grammatical structures. Universities and Japanese companies frequently require Level 2 of this test for foreign candidates.
Minimum level required :Elementary - A1*
