DELE - Spanish Diploma as a Foreign Language
The DELE is the only certificate of Spanish officially recognized by the Ministry of Education, which measures non-native Spanish speaker’s abilities.
This diploma is recognized on the International level for those who want to study in a Spanish university or who want to work in a country where Spanish is spoken.
It is possible to pass your language level without having to pass the lower levels first:

It is possible to pass your language level without having to pass the lower levels first:
- Certificado inicial of Espanol (beginner, simple conversations). Once passed, this diploma demonstrates a B1 language level (intermediate) to the European Council.
- Diploma basico of Espanol (communicating with ease). Once passed, this diploma demonstrates a C1 language level (strong / intermediate) to the European Council.
- Diploma superior of Espanol. This shows a mastery of the language and knowledge of the culture of the country. You must be at least 16 years old to take this test. Once passed, this diploma demonstrates a C2 language level (Advanced /Superior degree) to the European Council.

- Written comprehension (40 minutes)
- Written expression: drafting brief texts (50 minutes)
- Oral comprehension: test on CD with multiple choice questions (30 minutes)
- Grammar and vocabulary (40 minutes)
- Oral Expression: interview with a jury (10 minutes)
Intermediate level:
- Written comprehension (60 minutes)
- Written expression: drafting a letter and a text, each between 150 and 200 words (60 minutes)
- Oral understanding: test on CD with multiple choice questions (30 minutes)
- Grammar and vocabulary (60 minutes)
- Oral expression: interview with a jury (12 minutes)
Superior level:
- Written comprehension (60 minutes)
- Written expression: drafting a letter and a text, each between 150 and 200 words (60 minutes)
- Oral comprehension: test on CD with multiple choice questions (45 minutes)
- Grammar and vocabulary (60 minutes)
- Oral expression: interview with a jury (15 minutes)
