Health insurance

For European residents :

You should obtain a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) before leaving the UK. (see the website www.dh.gov.uk) The EHIC is not a substitute for medical and travel insurance, but covers you for emergency medical treatment. You will not be covered for medical repatriation, on-going medical treatment or treatment of a non-urgent nature.
But, because the EHIC does not cover medical repatriation, non-urgent medical problems or on-going treatment, it is strongly recommended that you obtain comprehensive travel and medical insurance before travelling. You should check for any exclusions in your policy and make sure that your policy covers you for the activities you want to undertake.

Driver's license

o A national driving licence is accepted.
o An international sign, showing your country of origin (i.e. GB sticker), should be positioned on the vehicle.
o It is strongly advised for EU nationals taking their own cars to France to obtain a Green Card. Without it, insurance cover is limited to the minimum legal coverage in France.
