Course description

Tamwood's Whistler English school is located in the center of Whistler village, just a few minutes walking distance from the ski slopes, golf course, shops, night clubs and restaurants.

Pedagogy

Tamwood's teachers are experienced and certified English instructors with university degrees and a minimum of one year’s experience teaching English to non-native speakers.

Activities

Although many students think of skiing and snowboarding when they think of activities in Whistler, there are many other exciting activities to do as well, especially between May and October. On the weekends, students often take part in Tamwood's organized excursions to Vancouver where they enjoy sightseeing, professional sporting matches, shopping and great nightlife.

Equipment

The classrooms are very spacious and are well-lit.
Tamwood’s Whistler English school is a spacious and modern building with large, bright classrooms and a well furnished student lounge, computer lab, ski equipment storage room, tuning room and meeting area.
Students use the computer lab to do research on the internet for presentations, and use modern language learning programs on CD ROMs to study grammar, and practice their pronunciation.

Standard Course

This program is recommended for those who wish to learn a language and also be able to do other activities. Improve your communication skills through application in a variety of everyday situations. This course enables you to improve your grammatical knowledge, your vocabulary and your pronunciation.
The standard general language course is suitable for those who want to learn or improve a language, while having the opportunity to practice it everyday in the country where it is spoken.

English + Canadian Ski Instructors Association (CSIA) Certification

This program combines two weeks of English courses and skiing lessons. It will help you improve your English while also preparing you for the 4 day exam taken at the end of the two weeks where you will receive your Level 1 Certification from the Canadian Ski Instructors Association (CSIA)
The program runs from December to April. Here you will have the opportunity to study abroad and becoming a certified ski instructor!

English + Canadian Association of Snowboard Instruction (CASI) Certification

This program combines two weeks of English courses with snowboarding instruction classes. This helps you to improve your English while also preparing you for the 3 day exam that you will take at the end of the two weeks to receive your Level 1 Certification from the Canadian Association of Snowboard Instruction (CASI ). Here you will have the opportunity to study abroad and become certified to teach snowboarding!
The program runs from December to April.
