Academia Tica

Academia Tica was established in 1986 and is one of the oldest language schools in Central America that teaches Spanish as a second language and Latin American culture to non-native speakers.
The school is known by individualized attention to its students in all its courses and unique closeness to the local community.

Course description

Academia Tica Coronado Spanish School is a quiet place located near the Capital San José.
The school is on the site of an old farm surrounded by 5.000 square meters of tropical garden, with more than 100 different plants and trees, and many birds and butterflies.

Qualified and experienced academic staff in teaching Spanish as a second language, trained to use technology that facilitates learning.

Activities

All students are welcome to participate in free or very affordable optional weekly activities.The activity program has at least 3 social and cultural activities per week. Some of the activities include latin dancing, cooking classes, and tropical fruit classes. Other optional activities include visits to the Irazu or Poas volcanoes, an organic farm and a coffee plantation.

Our advice

Academia Tica Spanish School is perfect to learn Spanish but also a great starting point to travel around Costa Rica. It is more than just a Spanish language school. Besides language courses the school offers various services. Standard Course

This program is recommended for those who wish to learn a language and also be able to do other activities. Improve your communication skills through application in a variety of everyday situations. Preparation Course for the DELE

The DELE ( Diplomas de Español como Lengua Extranjera ) is issued by Spain 's Ministry of Education, and offers official accreditation to an individual’s mastery of the Spanish language for citizens of countries where Spanish is not the official language. The examination is offered at three levels that test ability to read, write, speak and understand Spanish.

Family Course

This is a great opportunity for both parents and children to take advantage of a family language program abroad! This program’s popularity grows every year. It’s a relaxing way for the whole family to enjoy a nice vacation in London while benefiting from English courses at the same time!
While their children are at school in the morning, parents and other adult family members have the option of taking a course at Frances King. This course takes place in our Gloucester Road school in Kensington.
