The price includes :

• 21 hours of lessons per week : 3 hours in the morning + 2 hours for “Active Language Projects” in the afternoon.
• Living accomodations : Most rooms are doubles. However, there are some single, triple and quadruple rooms.
  Boys and girls are accommodated in separate rooms with similar aged students who are typically of different nationalities. It is more likely that you would be in the same house as a friend, but not usually the same room.
• All meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner, are eaten in the college dining room.
• One free excursion or activity each week.

Activities without additional costs:

Fees do not include :

The intensive English course is an excellent way of getting the most from your summer in Oxford. It focuses on serious language learning in small classes over a 3 week period.
Focus is placed primarily on accuracy and fluency in the language.
Your accuracy benefits from the integrated study of grammar, listening, speaking, reading and writing activities
Your fluency improves with role play, simulations and oral presentations in the classroom.
Teachers at St. Clare's have high expectations and encourage you to work hard in class and outside
Homework assignments and regular tests are integral to the program
You are also expected to research topics in advance by using the extensive library facilities.
Visits to interesting attractions in and around Oxford complement your studies
You will receive a certificate of completion and a detailed academic report at the end of your course.

  Morning lessons: Intensive English (2.5 hours per day) and supervised resource-based study (1 hour per day). Afternoon lessons: Intensive English (4 afternoons per week)
• The Director of Studies tests your knowledge upon arrival and monitors your progress throughout the program

This is the most popular course for older teenagers at St. Clare's each summer. It combines every day English studies with Active Language Projects and a wide range of activities and excursions. The Director of Studies tests your knowledge of English and places you in an international group of students at the same level.
Morning lessons focus on the language learning skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing. They also increase your accuracy and use of the language by practicing grammar points and extending your range of vocabulary. In the afternoons the focus is on improving fluency in English through a range of interesting subject projects. (See Active Language Project subjects below). Our qualified and experienced teachers will encourage you to communicate with increasing confidence and accuracy.

Supervision

Each house has a resident Warden who is responsible for your welfare.

Arrival and departure

Arrival:Sunday : rooms available from 14. Flights should not arrive earlier than 6:00 or later than 21:00
Departure: Saturday please leave your room by 10:00. Flights should not depart earlier than 10:00
