Course description

Although the modern city of Frankfurt is only a 40 minutes city train trip away – there are some good reasons to come to Wiesbaden: The town with a population of 275.000 is not only the capital of Hesse, one of the German federal states, but also one of the most beautiful towns of the region. Only little destroyed during the last war the town center impresses with spacious living areas, boulevards and facades in the style of classicism and Art Nouveau. Other than the numerous sights there is much more to do here: The goEast- and Exgrounds-film Festival, the Apple tree blossom feast and the Wilhelm Street Festival, to mention only a few.

Pedagogy

All the teachers are native speakers and are specially trained to teach German as a foreign language.

Activities

To help you familiarizing even faster our activity guide will take you on discovery tours in town. You will see the famous Kurhaus, the Theatre, the City Castle and the impressive Market Church. After that we will walk up to the station of the Neroberg Mountain Railway that will bring you to the Neroberg mountain, 245 meters above sea level, where you have a magnificent view over Wiesbaden and on top of it lots of fun – in the nicest outdoor swimming pool of the town.
But also the excursions to places outside of Wiesbaden will not be boring for you. In the banking metropolis of Frankfurt you will experience a view from the air – that is from the observation deck of the 200 meters high Maintower. During an excursion to the Rhine Valley you will visit a medieval knight’s castle, the Germania monument and go on a boat trip on the biggest and most famous German river. The Rhine downstream is another destination where we will take you: Cologne, a city with a population of over a million. And again we will go up a tower – this time to climb the steps on your own feet. But be assured, the effort is worth doing it. We are talking about the bell tower of the Cologne Cathedral, you will probably have not seen such a church before.
