Located close to Hollywood and to Beverly Hills, and just 3 km or a little under 2 miles from Santa Monica and Venice beaches, ELC Los Angeles allows you to study English in a studious setting while also taking advantage of the area’s beautiful weather.

Course description

ELC Los Angeles on Wilshire Boulevard, is located in the city's exclusive westside. It is close to Beverly Hills and Hollywood, and just two miles from Santa Monica and Venice beaches.

Pedagogy

All of the professors are certified and specialize in teaching English to non-native speakers. They are all American native English speakers.

Activities

ELC offers a variety of activities after school and on weekends for students to enjoy!
ELC center publishes a monthly excursion calendar which students receive on their first day of class. Weekday activities include outings in and around Los Angeles.

Equipment

Classes take place on the second floor of the building.

Standard Course

This program is recommended for those who wish to learn a language and also be able to do other activities. Improve your communication skills through application in a variety of everyday situations. This course enables you to improve your grammatical knowledge, your vocabulary and your pronunciation.
The standard general language course is suitable for those who want to learn or improve a language, while having the opportunity to practice it everyday in the country where it is spoken.

UCLA Summer Campus Program

The ELC Summer English Program at the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) gives the individual the opportunity to live on a beautiful American campus while studying English with ELC.This program is offered only during July and August.

English for Adults 50+

Intensive English course in small group for adults ages 50 and up. There is a guided sightseeing tour of London in the afternoon and optional weekend excursions.

Combined Course

This program combines group language courses in the morning that encourage students to interact and help a student to improve practical communication skills. The individual language classes in the afternoon allow you to concentrate on your areas of weakness and on things that interest you personally.

One-to-One Course

This program offers personalized teaching in individual language courses in order to accomplish specified goals in a short amount of time.
This is the perfect option for those who have certain goals or a time limit. It is particularly useful for professionals who would like to prepare for a presentation, negotiations or a trip abroad. This is a tailor-made course in which you may evolve at your own pace and work at your own level.

General English + TOEFL Preparation

This program allows you to perfect your English, while also preparing for the TOEFL. The TOEFL test measures the ability of non-native English speakers to use and understand English as it is spoken, written, and heard in college and university settings.
You will take the standard language class in the morning and test preparation classes in the afternoon.

FCE Preparation Course - First Certificate in English

The FCE indicates level of English proficency and practical use in clerical, secretarial and managerial jobs in many industries, particularly tourism, where contact with English speakers is required. Successful candidates must have the ability to handle routine letters and telephone inquiries.
After passing the exam, you will receive a certificate awarded by University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations. This certificate is recognized by universities and employers throughout the world.

CAE Preparation Course - Certificate in Advanced English

CAE is ideal if you want to work or study abroad or if you wish to follow a career path that requires strong language skills (e.g. business, medicine or engineering).
