Edinburgh is the capital of Scotland and one of the most attractive cities in Great Britain. Edinburgh and its neighborhood offers a variety of interesting activities in a lushly green and harmonious environment.
In the city of Edinburgh you can visit numerous places of interest including the Royal Botanical Gardens, St. Giles’ Cathedral, the National Galleries of Scotland, Charlotte Square, the Royal Musuem of Scotland and Holyrood Palace, which can be seen thorughout the city. On the outskirts of Edinburgh, you can visit Arthur’s Seat, which offers a magnificent view of the city, and is easily accessible on foot.
Around Edinburgh, you can participate in many excursions and activities. You can see the Forth Estuary in the northeastern part of the city, or the Hopetoun House, a huge residence situated on the banks of the River Forth. You can also discover Stirling Castle, where Scotland’s fight for independence took place, led by, among others, Sir William Wallace.
You can also take numerous walks in the region of Edinburgh, without forgetting that Glasgow, the second largest city in Scotland, is only 68 km or a little over 40 miles away from Edinburgh.
