By passing the Zertifikat Deutsch (ZD) examination, you will prove that you possess solid basic knowledge of the everyday language, which allows you to manage the important situations in day-to-day life. This examination will show that you have mastered the fundamental grammatical structures, that you are able to understand and to participate in a conversation, that you can express simple facts in both orally and through writing, and that you understand basic everyday texts.
This diploma confirms elementary knowledge of German, such as mastery of vocabulary for basic, grammatical rules, the capacity to be understood and to take part in conversations on common subjects, the ability to present orally information in texts on various subjects
The ZD is well-known worldwide and recognized by employers in public and private sectors. The exam is recognized in Germany as a linguistic qualification for the acquisition of German nationality. Passing this exam demonstrates a level of knowledge corresponding to a B1 language level (intermediate) to the European Council.
